Benjamin Moore

Benjamin MooreIn the Winter 2005 issue of Urban Glass's Glass the magazine called Benjamin Moore "the bridge between Italian design and the American studio glass movement." His role as an American glass artist in Venice is frequently compared to that of Dale Chihuly and Richard Marquis.

Moore's website offers the following description of the artist:

"Benjamin Moore designs and creates handblown glass objects that are collected around the world. His work is included in private and public collections including the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institute (Washington D.C.); Corning Museum of Glass (Corning, New York); Venini Collection (Murano-Venice, Italy); Niijima Contemporary Glass Art Museum (Niijima, Japan)...

Most of Mr. Moore's object work is in three series: Interior Folds, Exterior Folds, and Pallas. These series show his interest in clean and simple design principles. He has also explored, during his more than 25 year career, a variety of other objects integrating classical shapes, techniques, and colors."
